The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors—and 90% of our workforce is made up of volunteers. That means everything we do is powered by people like you.
There are truly endless opportunities to get involved. Get trained ahead of a disaster so you’re ready to respond when your community needs you most. Serve as a Disaster Action Team member, responding to local home fires—often in the middle of the night—to provide immediate support, comfort, and financial assistance to families impacted by disaster.
You can also become a Home Fire Advocate and help save lives by installing free smoke alarms in local homes. Support our mission as a PR/Communications Volunteer, or serve as a Blood Donor Ambassador, helping ensure lifesaving blood donations reach patients in need.
No matter your skills, schedule, or interests—there’s a place for you to make a real impact.
The American Red Cross shelters, feeds, and provides emotional support to disaster victims; supplies nearly half of the nation’s blood; teaches lifesaving skills; delivers international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families.
As a charitable organization—not a government agency—the Red Cross relies on the dedication of volunteers and the generosity of the American public to carry out its lifesaving mission. Marathon County is proudly part of the Wisconsin Region of the American Red Cross, connecting local communities to a nationwide network of aid and support.
