Get your hands in the soil and help tend the Monk Botanical Gardens kitchen garden! These recurring workdays help to bring together a knowledgeable, passionate group of people who love growing food and sharing what they know.
Each workday is led by our dedicated Kitchen Garden Volunteer Leader, Teri Soderholm, and supported by a collaborative team of experienced volunteers who are always happy to show you the ropes. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or have never touched a trowel, you'll be in great hands.
When you arrive, there's plenty to choose from — planting, harvesting, weeding, and general upkeep. Follow your interests, work at your own pace, and contribute in whatever way feels right for you that day. The group's collective wisdom is always nearby if you want to learn something new.
Everything grown here goes back to the community — supporting our programs where we teach about where our food comes from
What to bring: Clothes you don't mind getting dirty, closed-toe shoes, water, and sunscreen. Tools and gloves are available on site.
