Memorial Garden | Mixed Sun & Shade
As the season warms up at Monk Botanical Gardens, we're looking for volunteers to help keep our grounds beautiful and thriving. Sara's Garden is one of the most cherished spaces on the property — a memorial garden inspired by a love of children, literature, and the natural world. Born from a vision to create a storybook experience in the garden, this centrally located space welcomes visitors of all ages and is always in the spotlight. Your time and effort here will help create an environment that feels welcoming, alive, and well-loved — enjoyed by everyone who walks through our doors. Better yet, bring a friend and make a day of it!
What You'll Do
- Weeding, deadheading, and general bed maintenance
- Caring for plantings in a high-visibility, well-loved space
- Helping with seasonal cleanup and bed preparation
- Keeping pathways and green spaces tidy and inviting
Who We're Looking For
Garden enthusiasts, outdoor lovers, or anyone who enjoys working with their hands and wants to contribute to a space with real meaning behind it. No formal experience required — just a willingness to dig in and a love for the outdoors. This is a great opportunity to volunteer solo, bring a friend, or meet like-minded community members who share a love for the outdoors.
Why Volunteer With Us
The work you do in Sara's Garden will be seen and felt every day — by children discovering the space for the first time, by families who return season after season, and by a community that holds this garden close to its heart. Bring your crew, make some new friends, and help something beautiful grow.
Time Commitment: Flexible — one-time or ongoing, based on your availability.
