Share the Glamour: Borrowed Boutique Volunteers!

Description

The Borrowed Boutique is a formal attire "borrow” event where high school students can browse, try-on, and borrow outfits for an upcoming formal dance—at NO COST!


We will need help with both set up and takedown, and you can choose to do either or both!


SET-UP

Set-Up Volunteer Shifts

  1. Friday, September 18th 8am-11:30am
  2. Friday, September 18th 11:30am- 3pm


Set-Up Responsibilities

  • Assemble clothing racks and dressing room.
  • Sort through formal attire and remove any outdated or damaged items (broken zippers, stains, ripped, etc.) - these will be donated to our Boys & Girls Club Art Studio to be repurposed.
  • Hang dresses on racks. § Create size signs for each rack.
  • Label bags and totes by garment type (long dresses, short dresses, dress pants, etc.) and size for easy identification and access.
  • Arrange and store bags and totes in the storage room.
  • Set up tables for the event.
  • Organize accessories and shoes on tables.


DURING EVENT

Event Volunteer Shifts

  1. Friday, September 18th 3pm-6:30pm
  2. Saturday, September 19th 9am-Noon
  3. Saturday, September 19th Noon-3


Event Responsibilities

  • Help students discover outfits and accessories that reflect their size, style, and personal vision
  • Keep the space welcoming and organized by returning dresses and items to racks
  • Support students during the check-out process and help prepare their selected items for take-home
  • Look over contract to ensure information is legible and accurate
  • Carefully bag attire for students, ensuring a smooth and positive check-out experience
  • Create a warm, encouraging, and inclusive shopping environment
  • Cheer on and support students as they make confident choices and feel their best


TAKEDOWN

Takedown Volunteer Shifts:

  1. Saturday, September 19th 3pm-6pm


Takedown Responsibilities

  • Store formal attire in the appropriate bags or totes.
  • Label bags and totes by garment type (long dresses, short dresses, dress pants, etc.) and size for easy identification and access.
  • Pack shoes and accessories into their designated bins or totes.
  • Arrange and store bags and totes in the storage room.
  • Disassemble the clothing racks and dressing room- place in storage room after attire has been stored.
  • Check bathrooms for any items left behind.
  • Wipe down tables and mirrors.
  • Take down the tables and return them to their designated location.
  • Dispose of any trash in the outside dumpster.
  • Sweep the gym floor.
