Description

What You’ll Do

As a Homecare Volunteer, you’ll bring comfort and companionship to patients and families in their homes or facilities. You’ll be part of a supportive care team that values presence, listening, and kindness above all.

Volunteers may:

  • Offer companionship: share conversation, music, or quiet moments

  • Provide emotional support: a reassuring presence for patients and loved ones

  • Observe and communicate: share updates with the care team to ensure comfort and safety

  • Assist with daily tasks: light housekeeping, laundry, grocery runs, or meal prep

You’ll receive training and guidance from experienced hospice professionals — including orientation, shadowing, and documentation support — so you feel confident and prepared.

Location: Various facilities or patient homes within the Wausau, Rhinelander, Tomahawk, Woodruff/Minocqua, Eagle River, Merrill, Stevens Point, Wisconsin Rapids, Marathon City, Edgar, Athens, or Antigo areas. This information will be provided once a patient is selected and assigned.

Time Commitment:  Flexible, typically 1–4 hours per week

Why It Matters

Your compassion, steadiness, and willingness to sit with people during tender moments make a real difference. When you offer conversation, a calming presence, or help with simple tasks, you’re honoring dignity, protecting privacy, and strengthening the human connections that matter most.

Each visit brings warmth into someone’s day. Your time helps families feel supported, and your presence reminds patients they are deeply cared for.

Join Aspirus Hospice in bringing comfort, companionship, and gentle support to those who need it most.
