Create a Welcoming Space for Adults Experiencing Memory Loss
Opportunity Overview
The Aging & Disability Resource Center of Central Wisconsin (ADRC-CW) is seeking friendly volunteers to support the Memory Cafe. This is a monthly gathering that offers a safe, comfortable, and engaging environment for people with mild to moderate memory loss and their care partners. As a volunteer, you help create a warm, welcoming space where guests can connect, laugh, learn and feel supported by their community.
What You'll Do
- Greet participants and help them feel comfortable upon arrival
- Guide guests to tables and the serving area
- Engage in conversation and assist with activities
- Help guests locate bathrooms and navigate the space
- Assist with setup and cleanup before and after the event
- Participate in required training and updates
Time Commitment
- Third Thursday of each month
- 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. (includes setup and post-event support)
- Each Cafe lasts 1.5 - 2 hours, with additional time before and after for volunteer support
