Help out in a big way in a very busy hospital unit. Greet and assist visitors in the Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MSICU). Assist visitors locating patient rooms, rest room or cafeteria. Answer telephone and help with small clerical tasks as requested. Must be outgoing with good communication skills and not afraid to ask staff for tasks to complete.

Rainbow’s End is a week‑long day camp in Weston for children and young adults with disabilities ages 5–21. Volunteers (age 14+) are paired one‑on‑one with a camper to help create a fun, safe, confidence‑building camp experience.

Provide friendship and encouragement to your assigned camper

Support them during activities like swimming, games, crafts, and meals

Help with basic self‑care and safety as needed

Celebrate with families during Friday’s awards ceremony

Choose one week or volunteer for both:

Tue & Thu: 8:15 am–3:15 pm

Aspirus Rainbow's End Day Camp for children with special needs gives these children (ages 5-21) from throughout north central Wisconsin a weeklong summer camp experience that encourages creativity and enhances the self-confidence of these children. The camp gives them the opportunity to enjoy safe, creative, and fun activities in a beautiful Wisconsin outdoor setting. The camp activities are individualized for each camper based on their abilities, strengths, and potential.

The camp relies heavily on volunteers who work one-on-one with these children so that they can participate to the fullest degree in camp activities.

You can volunteer for one or both weeks: July 20-24, 2026 and/or July 27-31,2026

Have you always wanted to be a 'candy striper'? Our patients need you! Help enhance their hospital stay by providing comfort items at the bedside. A variety of items are provided at no charge to patients like playing cards, puzzle books, blankets, etc. Your help will not only benefit our patients but the rewards you will receive are priceless!

The Aspirus Family House is a beautiful, modern, home-like facility that provides temporary housing for patients traveling for long-term outpatient specialty care, as well as families coming long distances to be near their loved one who's hospitalized. The house eases the financial burden associated with travel for our most vulnerable patients and families.

Help our guests by visiting with them in common areas, assisting staff with changing beds, cleaning, basic household duties, etc. to help keep the house looking fresh, organized, well-stocked and homelike.

Or, if cooking or baking are your forte, bring in homemade food for guests that you can make at home and deliver.

Help NICU staff by greeting visitors and families in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) waiting room. Allow entry to the unit according to protocol. Assist with filing, tidying family kitchen area, stocking/cleaning refrigerator as needed, decorate baby signs, fold baby items, etc.

HIGH NEED

Join the Aspirus Volunteer team and help keep things running smoothly during the busy lunch time at the hospital cafeteria. Volunteers play a vital role in helping keep the salad bar and soup bar stocked and ready to serve. Additionally, restocking silverware, condiments, and napkins, and wiping down tables are also key to a pleasant dining experience. We'd love to welcome you to our team!

HIGH NEED

Volunteer in the Day Surgery waiting room. Help convey patient status to waiting family members. Act as liaison between doctors, staff members, and those waiting. Keep track of family member(s) and locate them when needed. Escort family members to conference rooms or education room to meet with doctor or view video. Assist staff with clerical projects as requested.

You can greatly help our patients by making handmade items. We continue to need *Pocket Prayer Shawls*, Prayer Shawls, Twiddle Muffs, and always stuffed animals (must be homemade or new with tags). Also, veteran-themed lap blankets for our hospice veterans. Patterns are available upon request. Your time and efforts are So Appreciated by our patients! Bring your items for donation to Entrance A at Aspirus Wausau Hospital Reception Desk. Be sure to complete a donation form when dropping off (required).

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is looking for compassionate individuals to help brighten the day of patients and guests. Patient Support volunteers play a vital role by delivering flowers, mail, and donated comfort items to patients and guests. They also assist patients and visitors with wayfinding and support hospital departments with mailings and special projects. This is one of the many ways you can contribute to the community while creating a positive experience for those in need.

Our patients, guests, and staff need the comfort that sometimes only a dog can provide. Provide an adjunct therapy activity for patients who would like additional social or emotional stimulation. Visit with patients, guests, and staff who love seeing furry friends. Pets must be certified through an American Kennel Club accrediting agency.

HIGH NEED

Play a vital role in enhancing the emotional well-being of our patients by offering them companionship, conversation, and support. Assist with non-clinical requests like playing games/cards, helping with puzzles, reading to them, tidying their room, making phone calls, etc. Training provided.

HIGH NEED

Help your elderly and special needs community neighbors remain in their homes by installing Aspirus Lifeline equipment in subscriber residences. Volunteers go into homes throughout Marathon County to install and show the subscriber how to use their personal help button and Lifeline unit. They also provide replacement batteries for personal help buttons and units in subscriber homes, as well as general troubleshooting. Must possess a valid WI driver's license. Training provided. Mileage reimbursement.

HIGH NEED

Help your elderly and special needs community neighbors remain in their homes. Volunteers go into the homes of Aspirus Lifeline subscribers throughout Marathon County to change out batteries and personal help buttons. Must have a valid driver's license. Training provided. Mileage reimbursement.

Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community? Aspirus is seeking compassionate and friendly volunteers to join our team as EZ Rider drivers. As an EZ Rider driver, you'll operate a golf cart-style vehicle specially designed to help our patients and visitors navigate the hospital. Your role will be to provide transport assistance within the hospital, ensuring patients and guests reach their destination safely and comfortably. Whether it's assisting someone who needs a little extra help or simply brightening their day, you'll make a big difference in their experience. This unique opportunity helps support patients navigating cancer treatment at the Aspirus Regional Cancer Center. Volunteers assist cancer patients with access to and education on wigs, turbans, and scarves, helping them feel confident and cared for during their health journey. A compassionate approach to working with cancer patients is needed. Training provided. Our volunteers find this opportunity to be deeply impactful and fulfilling.
