Our HELP program is seeking compassionate volunteers to assist with phone calls, paperwork, and guest interactions.

No computer skills needed: just a kind heart and a willingness to help.

Key Activities:

If customer service isn’t your thing but you still enjoy being around kind, welcoming humans, you’re in the right place. And if you’re the type of person who finds satisfaction in making a space shine—tidy corners, clean floors, and everything in its place, then we might be a perfect match.

Good News Project is looking for a once‑a‑week volunteer to help keep our office feeling bright, organized, and ready for the community we serve. Your work helps us focus our energy on doing our mission. That's a pretty great impact for a few hours of volunteer time, and much appreciated!

Key Activities:

·       Vacuuming carpets

·       Sweeping and mopping floors

·       Cleaning kitchen and bathrooms

·       Dusting office area

·       Clean and organize boardroom and volunteer area

·       Occasionally washing interior windows. (let that beautiful sunshine in!)

Duration:

Approximately 3-4 hours each week. Time is flexible and negotiable, within the hours of operation.

Calling all waste warriors!    

If you’re the kind of person who wants to do something for the planet and not just talk about it then this volunteer opportunity just may be for you. This is your chance to make a measurable difference. Every Friday, our e‑CYCLING volunteers help divert electronic waste from landfills and turn it into something useful again. It’s physical, purposeful, and directly good for the earth.

Key Activities:

1.     Customer Service: Greet customers, fill out customer form, advocate for Good News Project

2.     Lifter/Sorter: Unload cars to wagons, weigh electronics, sort electronics into shipping containers

What to wear: Dress for the weather; we suggest layers. Wear comfortable closed-toed shoes. Electronics can be dirty so please plan accordingly.

Physical requirements:

·       Ability to stand for the duration of your shift.

·       As a lifter/sorter you would be required to lift 50lbs.

If you love staying active and prefer making an impact without being in the spotlight, this is your moment. Our behind‑the‑scenes volunteers are the hidden heroes who make it possible for essential medical equipment to reach people who truly need it.

Each week, volunteers help transform donated items by cleaning, sanitizing, reassembling, and prepping them for their next home. This is hands-on, meaningful work that directly supports someone’s health, comfort, and independence.

Key Activities:  Sanitizing, reassembling, and cataloging durable medical equipment.

This includes loading and unloading equipment into our sanitizing machine Reassembling equipment Shelving items once dry

No computer skills are needed!

Duration:

Ideally, volunteers would find a 2-3-hour shift that fits best within their schedule during our regular business hours.

What to wear:

Dress comfortably! You may get a little damp while handling washed equipment and there will be plenty of bending, twisting and lifting.

Physical requirements:

Able to lift 50lbs.
