United Way of Marathon County

Who We Are

Our Impact

United Way of Marathon County has a BOLD goal to lift 10,000 community members to financial stability by 2033. We focus on four areas – Basic Needs, Employment and Income, Childcare, and Behavioral Health.

What We Do

Volunteers play a critical role in this work. Whether you're helping families access free clothing through the Community Closet, bringing resources directly into neighborhoods through the Mobile Community Closet, or supporting special community initiatives, your time creates meaningful impact for local people.

Why Volunteer With Us?

  • Flexible opportunities for individuals and groups
  • One-time and ongoing volunteer roles
  • Family-friendly opportunities available
  • Opportunities to meet new people and build connections
  • Direct, visible impact in our community
  • Support a stronger Marathon County where all can thrive

No matter your schedule, skills, or experience level, there's a place for you to get involved.

United Way Hunger Coalition – The vision is a day when no one is hungry and everyone in Marathon County has access to nutritious food.

Housing Taskforce – The vision is to eradicate homelessness and to create and sustain affordable housing solutions for Marathon County.

Community Closet & Mobile Community Closet – The Community Closet provides new and gently used clothing to guests who express a need, without requiring an income verification. The Mobile Community Closet is an extension of the physical closet and launched November 2023.

Community Investments - Our collective impact partners include funded and nonfunded organizations around the county that are committed to achieving our Bold Goal to lift 10,000 community members to financial stability by 2033.
