Every item on our shopping floor starts with a volunteer.

Donation Processing Volunteers help transform donated clothing into a welcoming shopping experience for local families. By sorting, organizing, and preparing donations, you'll help ensure community members can easily access the clothing they need.

Your efforts help reduce barriers for families and individuals while supporting United Way's work to lift 10,000 community members to financial stability by 2033.

What You'll Do

  • Sort incoming clothing donations
  • Inspect items for quality and usability
  • Organize clothing by size and category
  • Prepare items for display on the shopping floor
  • Help maintain an organized donation processing area
  • Assist with special projects as needed

When?

  • Mondays - 9:00am to 12:00pm
  • Tuesdays – 2:45pm to 5:15pm
  • Wednesdays - 4:45pm to 7:15pm
  • Fridays - 8:45am to 11:15am

Where?

The Community Closet is located at 705 S. 24th Avenue, Suite 440. The Community Closet is on the north side of the building, opposite to the United Way office.

Time Commitment

To staff regular hours, we are looking for volunteers who can make a commitment to two shifts per month, but we can be flexible if that doesn't work for you.

Age Requirement?

18+, or 14-17 alongside parent/guardian

Training?

All training will be provided on-site. Background check required.
