CASA

Who We Are

The mission of CASA of Marathon County is to advocate for the best interests of children in abuse and neglect cases by providing trained, screened volunteers who support them through the most challenging times in their lives.

What We Do

As a CASA volunteer you:

  • are appointed by the court to advocate for children who fall under a CHIPS order,
  • are an advocate for the best interests of the child to whom they are assigned,
  • perform an independent investigation and then report back to the Judge with your findings through written reports,
  • supplement the role of other professionals involved in the case,
  • visit with your child on a regular basis, and
  • interview and collaborate with many people including the parents, teachers and social workers.

A CASA volunteer becomes a consistent support for the child throughout their time as a dependent of the court.
