Let’s Go Fishing-Wausau Area

Let’s Go Fishing – Wausau Area is a volunteer‑powered nonprofit that gives seniors, Veterans, disabled adults, and youth the chance to enjoy safe, accessible time on the water.

Our mission is simple and human‑centered: create meaningful, therapeutic time outdoors for people who need it most.

Volunteers make every outing possible — welcoming guests, supporting safety, and creating meaningful moments outdoors.

We provide free, two‑hour fishing and boating trips on a handicap‑accessible pontoon (up to 10 guests). Outings run spring through early fall and serve senior facilities, nursing homes, churches, schools, and community groups.

Volunteers help with:

• Captaining the pontoon

• First Mate support

• Guest safety & life vests

• Fishing help: rods, reels, bait

• Hospitality & conversation

We provide everything needed — accessible equipment, live bait, life vests, volunteer guides, and LOTS OF FUN — and volunteers choose trips that fit their schedule.
