Opportunity Overview
The Open Door of Marathon County provides a safe, welcoming space for people experiencing homelessness and individuals reentering the community after incarceration. Volunteers help create a calm, supportive environment where guests can rest, access basic needs, and feel seen. We’re looking for caring volunteers to assist during our morning drop‑in hours.
What You’ll Do
- Welcome guests and offer a friendly, respectful presence
- Serve coffee and donated food
- Support the clothing closet by helping guests find needed items
- Provide general hospitality and help maintain a clean, safe space
- Share observations or needs with staff as appropriate
When You’re Needed
- Monday–Saturday
- 5:00 am–12:00 pm
- Flexible shifts available within these hours
- Closed Sundays

Requirements
- Adult volunteers 18+
- Willingness to work respectfully with all guests
- No special skills required — just empathy and reliability
