The Hospital ER Victim Advocate volunteer role is a gratifying role! This role alleviates staff from going after hours, allowing more time in the office to meet with clients.
Hospital ER Victim Advocates are vital to victims getting an exam after an assault. At the hospital, volunteer advocates provide support to the victim with empathy, compassion, and strength.
Provide support to victims through:
Information & referrals
Community resources
Safety planning
Training is provided for this role. No experience required!
Volunteers will learn about:
Dynamics of abuse
How to be an advocate
Work on listening skills
& More!
This role may include long periods of sitting. The volunteer will need to have a phone we can call from a blocked number.
