Edible & Productive Garden | Mixed Conditions
As the season warms up at Monk Botanical Gardens, we're looking for volunteers to help keep our grounds beautiful and thriving. The Kitchen Garden is one of the most dynamic spaces on the property — a large, ever-evolving garden with seasonal rotating crops, vegetable and flower beds, an herb bed, a foraging garden, and a squash patch. It's open to new ideas and welcomes volunteers who want to do more than just maintain — think, experiment, and grow. Your time here keeps this productive, community-facing space alive and flourishing. Better yet, bring a friend and make a day of it!
What You'll Do
- Planting, tending, and harvesting seasonal vegetables and herbs
- Weeding and bed maintenance across a large, varied space
- Assisting with seasonal cleanup and bed preparation
- Contributing ideas on design, plant selection, and care
Who We're Looking For
Anyone who loves edible gardening and wants room to get creative. Whether you're an experienced grower or just curious about food gardens, there's a place for you here. No formal experience required — just a willingness to dig in and a love for the outdoors. This is a great opportunity to volunteer solo, bring a friend, or meet like-minded community members who share a love for the outdoors.
Why Volunteer With Us
The work you do will be seen and felt every day — in the harvests, the beds, and the ever-changing landscape of a garden that's always growing. It's a chance to get outside, connect with fellow volunteers, and take pride in a space that brings people together. Bring your crew, make some new friends, and help something beautiful grow.
Time Commitment: Flexible — one-time or ongoing, based on your availability.
