The Ombudsman Volunteer Program is looking for compassionate volunteers to spend 1-2 hours a week at a local nursing home or assisted living facility visiting with the residents. Volunteers advocate for residents and/or empower residents when they have concerns. Orientation and training are provided. This position is very flexible and can fit around any schedule. The mission of the Board on Aging and Long Term Care is to advocate for the interests of the state's long term care consumers, to inform those consumers of their rights, and to educate the public at large about health care systems and long term care.
