Opportunity Overview
The Ombudsman Volunteer Program is seeking compassionate community members to spend 1–2 hours a week visiting residents in local nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Volunteers help ensure residents feel heard, respected, and supported.
What You’ll Do
Visit with residents and build friendly, consistent connections
Listen to concerns and help residents feel empowered
Advocate for resident rights with guidance from Ombudsman staff
Offer companionship, conversation, and a caring presence

Your visits help residents feel valued and less isolated. Volunteers play a key role in ensuring older adults have a voice and receive the dignity and respect they deserve.
Training & Support
Orientation and training provided
Ongoing support from Ombudsman staff
No prior experience needed — just empathy and reliability
Schedule
This role is very flexible and can fit around your availability. Most volunteers commit to 1–2 hours per week.
