Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art

The Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art (WMOCA) is a free contemporary art museum serving Northern Wisconsin. Founded on artist David Hummer's belief that world-class art should be accessible to everyone, we connect our community to the artists, ideas, and creative expression shaping culture today.

Located in the historic Wausau Club in downtown Wausau, WMOCA is more than a museum. We are a gallery, a stage, and a classroom where people of all ages and backgrounds can experience contemporary visual art, live performances, educational programs, and meaningful community connections. We believe art belongs to everyone, which is why admission to the museum is always free.

Our vision is a Northern Wisconsin where art and culture are woven into everyday life—where creativity is not limited by geography, income, or experience, but is available to all.

WMOCA brings contemporary visual and performing arts to Northern Wisconsin through:

• Free Museum Exhibitions – Professionally curated exhibitions featuring regional, national, and international artists.

• Live Performances – Music, dance, poetry, theater, and other creative performances that bring art beyond the gallery wall.

• Educational Programs – Classes, workshops, lectures, demonstrations, and artist talks led by working artists and educators.
