Education Volunteer

Volunteers will enjoy a day at the George W. Mead Wildlife Area, where they will assist with teaching lessons. Lesson topics include survival strategies, nature hikes, foraging, birding, orienteering, fly tying, and much more. Most lessons are taught outdoors.Groups range in ages, from kindergarten to senior. Volunteers will arrive half an hour before the group and leave once the group departs. A typical day would be 8:30-2:30, though exact timing varies by group. They will be responsible for leading one lesson; the lesson is scripted and all materials will be out and ready upon arrival.
